New data. A new chart showing Days on Market Comparison Sold Properties Oneida & Vilas Counties! I decided to try something new and take a look at historical data of Days on Market (DOM). DOM is an industrywide standard that people follow. This chart looks at all homes that have sold and how many days it took for them to sell.
The results are fascinating! One can see that in 2008 the average DOM was 172 days. It rose to a high of 239 days in 2012. The market in 2010 to 2012 was quite poor. DOM bounced around a bit but has been falling steadily since 2016. For the past 12 months, the DOM was 192. That is the first time it has been below 200 days since 2009.
Our local MLS system is not sophisticated. It does not take into account taking homes off market or changing agencies. The overall trend is positive.
I wish I could tell you that the Northwoods real estate market moved quicker! Our market is a bit slower than other areas of the country!
The weather is warming. Highs are in the 50’s and 60’s. We will be green before you know it!
